Visit to Maui Fish Farm |
Aug 17, 2011 |
MNHCC VP Johanna Amorin: “A great education in sustainability for a time of need....a new experience for me. Ed & Chris started the farm in 2008 to provide cost effective local produce and fish. The operation has a spawning area for organic tilapia in incubator vats when young & larger vats to Maturity/Market age. The water is filtered, then reused for planting vegetation and rotates to the spawning section. Mixed organic greens sell at prices comparable to Costco & have longer shelf lives. Awesome!“
